Creative Movement
In this class students will use their imaginations to bring stories and characters to life through movement to music and rhythms. Activities in this class will promote body and sensory awareness, physical fitness, and self-esteem. Most importantly, children will have fun!
First Steps in Music
This curriculum developed by renowned music educator, Dr. John Feierabend, uses simple rhymes and songs as well as age appropriate movement activities to help children develop pre-music literacy skills by becoming more tuneful and rhythmic. The lessons are designed to teach parents activities that they can easily incorporate into their daily routines as well as help pass down the aural traditions that are being lost as the structure of our families has changed. In addition to developing these crucial music literacy skills and preserving our musical heritage, a secondary effect occurs by the creation of a language rich environment. The singing of songs to children is a phenomenal way to address not only developing pre-music literacy skills, but also to create a language rich environment that subsequently aids in the development of language and pre-literacy skills.
Activities include bounces and wiggles, tickles, tapping/clapping, simple songs, and lullabies. The child is exposed to classical music with recordings and developmentally appropriate choreographed movement. After the first birthday, simple circle songs e.g. “Ring Around the Rosey” are added to the activities in each lesson.
Elaboration Stations
This workshop builds vocabulary and inspires the creative process of visual and language arts through fun, interactive sensory activities.

The method nurtures the whole child with positive encouragement, precise feedback, and high expectations. The Vaganova method develops the student in mind, body, and spirit. This technique allows the young dancer to opportunity to become a gifted artist. Students are individually evaluated according to notated expectations of the teacher, and are given continuous positive feedback on their strengths, technical development, and artistry.
